Hello, my name is Emily! I was born in Osaka, Japan, and currently reside in New York. As an art student, I am passionate about making artwork demonstrating the struggles I’ve faced as an Asian woman. I incorporate themes of feminism and female empowerment by using multilingual, bold typography in wearable art, mostly through big cardboard hats. I also hope to address current events and issues in Japan with my art, such as through graphic design with Blossom the Media. I am particularly interested in queer representation in the media and fighting unfair gender roles in Japanese society.
